New stars of the African Cup of Nations

Just the other day, one of the most respectable sports publications FourFourTwo published its own list of players who are definitely worth paying attention to during the African Cup of Nations. After all, it is possible that they will bring a crushing victory to their teams.

    Percy Tau

Last year, Percy Tau, one of the most sought-after players from South Africa, was bought by the Brighton and Hove Albion team. But it was not possible to play for him – the football player was not given a work permit. He had to prove his talent in Belgium, where he became the player of the season thanks to excellent performances for Union.

The technical and creative Percy Tau scored 11 goals and scored 13 effective passes. He is also a key figure in the South African national team-without him, it could have flown past the African Cup of Nations. In Group D, he will face Ivory Coast, Namibia and Morocco. There is no doubt that the game promises to be hot.

    Samuel Kalou

At the moment, only Samuel Kalu deserves the title of “the new Victor Moses” because the “original” left the national team at the age of 27.

Last year, Bordeaux signed a South African player as a replacement for Malkom, and Kanu did not disappoint, often giving out bright performances in Ligue 1. Well, he made his debut in the South African national team against the Seychelles, and from that moment he did not leave the team.

A master of dribbling, fast and agile, Kalu is known for his ability to score truly aesthetic goals.

    Seido Berahino

According to the head coach Gordon Igesund, the rapid progress of the national team would have been impossible without its main stars – Seido Berahino and Gael Bigiriman. And this is despite the fact that both players scored only one goal on the way to the African Cup of Nations.

However, it is Berahino, who is well known to us from his performances in the Premier League, who remains the main talent of the South African national team. Last year, he refused to play for England, where his name is more associated with eternal scandals than with bright matches.

    Mbaye Dian

The path of Mbaye Dyana was thorny and extremely interesting. In 2013, he was signed by Juventus, but he was never allowed to play for the “old senora” – instead, he went on leases.

In 2016, he was signed by the Chinese “Tianjin Teda”, and two years later he moved to Turkey-to “Kasimpasha” in the hope that now the coach of the South African national team will notice him, where he still performed in several decisive matches.

Now he can definitely be called one of the main stars of his national team.

    Ibrahim Sangare

34-year-old Seret Dieu from Neuchatel Xamax will soon hang up his boots on a nail – it’s been a long time to think about a new generation. One of its best representatives is Ibrahim Sangare, who is able to cement the midfield of South Africa.

Usually his position is taken by other familiar names-Frank Kessier and Jean Seri. Most likely, while they will be assigned more creative tasks, Sangara, a relative beginner, will have to be content with rough work.

Neat, reliable in defense, South Africa is incredibly good on the second floor – both in his own and in the enemy’s penalty area. He participated in 28 games last season. In January, Barcelona showed interest in him.
