    4 Key Elements of a Successful Sticker Marketing Campaign

    1. Keep it simple 

    When you invest in stickers, there are many different paths you can take, and it can seem tempting to fill every last inch of your design with text or go for wild shapes. 

    But, if you want to make sure your message will be seen and understood, we recommend keeping your sticker as simple as possible. A simple cutline gives your sticker durability. The fewer edges your sticker has, the less likely it will peel. Timeless round and square stickers are perfect for that. 

    You also want to try and keep the information you put on your sticker to a minimum. Do not be afraid of white space, it has a great effect and this way, your message will be most effective.

    2. Choose the right size 

    A 1×1 inch can sound tempting and is often incredibly low-cost. But beware, this is about the size of a 50 pence coin. There are some instances where this works great, like simple logo stickers. However, if you would like your stickers to be seen, this is not the size for you. 

    If you want your message to be seen, we recommend going for a size between 3 and 5 inches. This way, there is enough room for your text to actually be legible. To ensure legibility, you should work with a font size of at least 8pt.

    3. Find your perfect material 

    This can be the trickiest part, mainly because there are so many options available. But let us break this down as much as we can. At the most basic level, we can distinguish between paper and vinyl stickers. 

    Paper stickers are perfect for short-term indoor uses like food packaging and product labels. However, as they are made out of paper, you should avoid contact with water or oils. What is amazing about paper stickers is that they are biodegradable – a great option for environmentally conscious brands.

    Vinyl stickers, on the other hand, are resistant to water, chemicals, oils and sunlight. This makes them the best choice for outdoor uses. Such materials are very versatile and come in a range of different effects. Just look at the below image: a simple holographic label can elevate even a simple cardboard box. 

    4. Handout free stickers 

    As stickers are so cost-effective, they can easily be added with every order or given out with every purchase. This allows you to tap into the psychological power behind stickers. 

    When given in the right moment, stickers are not seen as an advertising tool. To the contrary: they are usually perceived as a gift. Gift-giving is an established advertising strategy because it evokes a psychological process referred to as the rule of reciprocity. 

    Upon receiving a gift, we feel the subconscious desire to return the favor. In this scenario, this can be a purchase, a recommendation or a social media post. Through something as simple as a sticker, you can ignite this chain of positive emotions linked to your business! 

    Just imagine your logo used as a phone or laptop sticker by your loyal customers. This automatically extends your reach and increases your brand visibility.
